Harness That ‘Back-to-School’ Momentum - Without Stress
September always carries a special energy. A spectacular month for renewing intentions and creating opportunities for the rest of the year.
Whether you’re a parent or a policy-maker, working in education, public service, or business, it’s impossible to miss the back-to-school momentum in the air.
It’s a natural time to launch new projects and ambitions. But with fresh energy often comes the risk of busyness tipping into stress. To help with that, I want to share a simple, life-changing practice.
Journaling.
It’s a proven wellbeing tool, recommended by everyone from CEOs to doctors. Yet many people find it hard to begin or feel daunted by the idea of making it a habit.
Here’s my framework that makes it effortless.
Each morning, with a cuppa in hand, write down these three questions:
What is the most important thing today?
How do I want to show up today?
What am I grateful for?
Tip: Write out the questions first. That way, you avoid the blank-page freeze. By the time you reach question three, the answers will usually flow in naturally. Trust what comes—there are no wrong answers.
Get out of your head and onto paper. When you take pen to paper, that's where the magic happens. Try it, and you’ll see.
